Social inequality in aging
Retirement and transitions
Professor Karsten Vrangbæk
Research Track Leader
We analyze how behavior and social contexts interact in shaping successful responses to critical transitions in later life. The research will use retirement as a key example, but will extend the analysis to include other aging-associated transitions. We aim to contribute with knowledge and tools to strengthen resilience and capacity to handle critical life transitions in older age. It is the hope that our research and communication activities can inspire policy solutions at all levels to strengthen the interaction between individuals and their social environment with the aim of supporting an active and meaningful aging experience.
