Healthy Aging at the Public Meeting 2015

Outreach

Center for Healthy Aging will participate in the Public Meeting on Bornholm, 11-14 June 2015. They will debate healthy ageing and establish new relations to central stakeholders.

During the Public Meeting 2015 Center for Healthy Aging will as part of the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences contribute by way of an increased focus on the fact that elderly people are a benefit and not a burden, as is the way they are often referred to, to society.

And with this purpose in mind, Center for Healthy Aging will provide important stakeholders and opinion makers with insight into the diverse areas covered by research into ageing while also offering advice on how individuals can stay active and fit both physically and mentally.

High quality of life

"We would very much like to inform politicians, opinion makers, communications professionals as well as the rest of the population about the complicated ageing process and the numerous societal and health-related changes that result from the fact that we live longer – and preferably stay active and enjoy a high quality of life all the way to the end", says Lene Juel Rasmussen, Director at the Center for Healthy Aging.

Together with DaneAge Association and the Capital Region of Denmark, Center for Healthy Aging has developed activities that will be presented at the Public Meeting, and they have invited a long list of partners, including The Danish Association for the Elderly, the Alzheimer’s Association, Lundbeck and IMB, to stop by and take part in the discussions.

"The Public Meeting provides an informal framework where we can meet our many collaborators and contributors. We can reinforce our mutually important agendas by supporting activities and initiatives. And I’m convinced that in the long run, this will bring fruitful results", Anéh Christina Hajdu, Head of Communications at Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, explains.
