Huge grant for research on Alzheimer's

Alzheimer's

Lene Juel Rasmussen and Vilhelm Bohr, Center for Healthy Aging, receive DKK 10 million for research on dysfunctional mitochondria in Alzheimer’s.

Olav Thon Foundation has given DKK 10 million over a four year period for research on the molecular mechanisms in Alzheimer's disease in a project named: "The role of mitochondrial dysfunction in Alzheimer's disease: a search for therapeutic strategies", by Professors Lene Juel Rasmussen and Vilhelm Bohr from Center for Healthy Aging.

The project will investigate whether mitochondrial dysfunction or altered energy supply contribute to Alzheimer’s disease. The experimental design is convincing and appropriate to elucidate these issues.
