Erik Boddeke becomes Affiliate Professor of Molecular Brain Aging

From 1 September 2019, Professor Erik Boddeke, University of Groningen has been appointed to Affiliate Professor.

Center for Healthy Aging has strengthen the collaboration with University of Groningen and University Medical Centre Groningen by appointing Professor Erik Boddeke, Vice Dean Research to Affiliate Professor of Molecular Brain Aging.

Professor Erik Boddeke has been a collaborator for many years and he has been part of the International Advisory Board of Center for Healthy Aging since 2014. Erik Boddeke is professor of Medical Physiology and Neurophysiology. From 1988 until 1995 he was head of a research laboratory and group leader at Sandoz and at Novartis Research in Basel, Switzerland. Since 1998 he is professor of Physiology at the University Medical Center Groningen. His work focusses on glia and ageing and on neural stem cells.

The appointment is granted for a period of five year.
