‘One health’ and the Metabolism-Disease-Environment Triangle

When Biomedicine Meets Innovation, Science Outreach and Social Sciences

This course provides participants with fundamental and translational knowledge on metabolism and integrates a holistic approach to the interactions between metabolism, environment and disease from a trans-disciplinary angle. Innovation and technology transfer will also be approached here, showing how fundamental research in cell metabolism can generate a potential for value creation.

Participants will be challenged by multiple views of the same biomedical problems and will be invited to build their own business plan or public policy idea.

The course is part of the PhD Programme in PHD Programme in Experimental Biology and Biomedicine at the University of Coimbra, Portugal.

Vice Director and Associate Professor at Center for Healthy Aging, Maria Kristiansen, is among the speakers.
