Medical Museion has in cooperation with Center for Healthy Aging (CEHA) created the exhibition Healthy Aging: A Lifespan Approach, which could be found in the Panum Buildings in the corridor, close to the cafeteria until October 2010.

The exhibition approached healthy aging in three ways:

Research - Center for Healthy Aging:

Research in aging is a topic with increasing interest all over the world. Center for Healthy Aging’s research (CEHA) is investigating biomedical, social, and psychological causes of healthy aging. The exhibition has wall panels that present the research carried out in the multidisciplinary CEHA at University of Copenhagen.

Collage series – 100 Light Years:

Art can capture the existential dimension of aging and visualize the accumulated layers of life experience. The exhibition has a photo and interview collage series of portraits of Danish centennarians. The series is created by photographer Liv Carlé Mortensen and is called 100 Light Years.

Visual and material cultural symbols:

Aging has its own visual and material cultural symbols. The exhibition has two floor showcases that display historical objects that represent four kinds of aids associated with old age – artefacts that have helped us overcome the deterioration of bodily functions.
