About the Center for Healthy Aging

Aging begins early in life, and human behavior and lifestyle affects health and life course. Center for Healthy Aging is a research center that studies how more people can have a healthy life and healthy aging. The approach to research is interdisciplinary and the center studies aging and aging processes from cell to society.

The Center for Healthy Aging is a network of research units, most of which are currently located at the University of Copenhagenand the Dean of the Faculty for Health and Medical Sciences Ulla Wewerhas overall responsibility for the Center. The other research units are based at the Faculties of Humanities and Social Sciences as well as a number of hospitals. 

New state-of-the art facilities

Since August 2009, Professor Lene Juel Rasmussen has been appointed as Managing Director and has the responsibility for the daily leadership. The Center is placed administratively within the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at the University of Copenhagen.

Many of the employees is located at the Maersk Tower - a 15 floors of state-of-the-art facilities for interdisciplinary research.
